Positioner Calibration

Positioner Calibration

Before proceeding with the setup, you must first establish accurate tool data (TCP) and ensure that the correct tool is used throughout the setup process. The setup steps are as follows:

1. Enter the manual operation interface and select the correct tool coordinate system.

2. Enter calibration, select the positioner, and choose "BASE."

3. Move the robot tool to a marked point on the positioner’s rotary table, and click “Modify Position” to record the location.

4. Rotate the positioner to a specific angle (e.g., 45°), move the robot tool again to the marked spot on the positioner’s rotary table, and click "Modify Position" to record the second position.

5. Follow the same procedure to record points 3 and 4.

6. Move the robot away from the positioner and record this position as "extender point Z" (this step is used solely to define the positive z-direction of the positioner's base). Once all points have been recorded, click "OK" to complete the calculation.

7. You can navigate to the Teach Pendant – Control Panel – Configuration – Motion – Single to view the relationship of the positioner’s base relative to the world coordinate system.

8. In the manual operation interface, select "Workpiece Coordinates" and create a new workpiece coordinate system. Set the `ufprog` parameter for this coordinate system to `false` (which prevents manual modification of the user frame values), and set `ufmec` to the name of the positioner (indicating that this coordinate system is driven by the positioner). All points recorded thereafter will be defined relative to this coordinate system, facilitating seamless coordinated motion.
